This Code of Ordinances shall be known and cited as the “Code of Ordinances, City of Mingus, Texas.” It consolidates all general and permanent ordinances of the City into an organized, accessible format for official reference.
All prior ordinances of a general and permanent nature not included in this Code are hereby repealed, except those specifically continued in force or referenced herein.
This Code shall become effective immediately upon final passage and publication as required by law.
The following rules apply to the construction of this Code unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
Unless otherwise specified, any person violating a provision of this Code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not exceeding $500. For ordinances relating to fire safety, zoning, public health, or sanitation, the fine may not exceed $2,000.
Each day any violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
The City Administrator, City Attorney, and peace officers of the City are authorized to enforce all provisions of this Code.
If any section or provision of this Code is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
All prior ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with this Code are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
New ordinances of a general and permanent nature shall be numbered, codified, and incorporated into this Code under the direction of the City Secretary.
The City Secretary shall maintain a master copy of the Code and update it following the adoption of each amendment or new Title.
This Code shall be available for inspection at City Hall and may be posted electronically on the official City website for public access.
